Aquarium appoints Jim Green to Head of Infrastructure to drive future growth

Jim Green has been appointed Head of Infrastructure at Aquarium, helping drive our growth in the global insurance market and develop our software platform for insurance companies.

Career history

In a varied career, Jim has worked on several high-profile IT infrastructure projects. Following his graduation from the University of Cambridge in 1990 Jim spent three years working at British Rail, where he was responsible for timetabling and ticketing systems.

His next role was at Royal Insurance, creating and maintaining a multinational insurance platform, while he also worked on significant projects for Norweb – including helping customers pay gas and electricity bills online, as well as integrating Norweb into the Tesco Clubcard loyalty scheme.

A decade at Aquarium

Joining us in 2006, Jim started his Aquarium journey as Development Manager – being one of the four founding employees still with us today. Jim has been integral in the development of ISO standards, the development of the Aquarium platform database and delivering best in class security to Aquarium customers.

As Head of Infrastructure, Jim is taking on the development and growth of our software platforms, as well as its performance. He will also be responsible for delivering service level agreements to customers.

Commenting on his new position, Jim said: “This is a huge role that I am relishing.  In the short term I want to ensure the Aquarium platform exceeds the expectations of our customers. In the long run I want to be central to building the most flexible and effective insurance platform in the business, delivering fast and profitable growth into new markets.”

Planning for long term growth

The appointment of Jim Green further demonstrates our commitment to delivering a long-term proposition to the insurance market that can grow and develop with our clients.

Ed Shropshire, Managing Director of Aquarium Software comments: “Jim’s appointment to the role of Head of Infrastructure is particularly poignant since he and I were both founding employees of Aquarium. The values that Jim brings to his role – those of integrity, attention to detail and innovation – are exactly how we want our reputation to develop in the market.”

We look forward to how Jim Green’s varied history in the industry will propel us to new heights and further develop our digitising insurance propositions.
